Capstan Caterpillar Machine
Capstan speed is regulated according to the desired speed of the production line.
Capstan caterpillar machine is widely used at extrusion line, rigid stranding machine, re-spooling machine,tapping machine etc
TAIZHENG mainly produces two types of capstans:
– Caterpillar capstans
– haul-off wheel capstans
Caterpillar capstans are mainly used in the production lines of bigger section conductors and ready cable/wire/copper. They have speed lines up to 300 m/min. The product is pinched between belts and the force is regulated by a pneumatic system. The size depends on the maximum tension of the production. Maximal tension is 20kN. TAIZHENG mainly produces 6 types of caterpillar haul-offs with 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 pairs of pneumatic cylinders.
Wheel capstans are used for quick lines with a smaller diameter of the product. The line speed is generated by the rotation of the wheel and by the friction between the surface of the wheel and the product. Depending on production needs, the diameter of the wheels could be 350, 400, 500 and 800mm. In some cases, the wheel capstan is combined with a cooling unit, so called – Cooling troughs capstan. The maximum speed of this kind of capstan is around 1200m/min.
