1. Copper and aluminum single wire drawing
At room temperature, copper and aluminum pole materials commonly used in wire and cable can be drawn through a wire drawing machine through one or several die holes in the drawing die, thereby reducing the cross-section, increasing the length, and increasing the strength. Wire drawing is the first process for wire and cable companies. The main process parameter of wire drawing is the die-closing technique.
2. single wire annealing
When the copper and aluminum single wire is heated to a specific temperature, the recrystallization can improve the toughness of the single wire and reduce the strength of the single wire to meet the wire and cable requirements for the conductor core. The key to the annealing process is stopping the copper wire's oxidation.
3. Conductor stranding
The conductive core is made of multiple single wires to improve the flexibility of wire and cable, which is easy to lay and install. Conductor core stranding can be divided into regular stranding and rare stranding. Rare stranding can be divided into bundle stranding, concentric composite stranding, special stranding, etc.
To reduce the area occupied by the conductor and the geometry of the cable, compact forms are used while stranding the conductor so that ordinary circles become semicircular, fan-shaped, tile-shaped, and compact. Such conductors are mainly used for power cables.
4. Insulation extrusion
Plastic wire and cable are mainly used to extrude a solid insulation layer. Plastic insulation extrusion of the leading technical requirements is as follows.
(1) eccentricity: the deviation value of the extruded insulation thickness is an important symbol to reflect the level of the extrusion process. Most of the product structure size and deviation values are specified in the standard.
(2) flatness: the surface of the extruded insulation layer should be flat, and there should be no surface roughness, scorching, impurities, and other poor quality problems.
3) Dense: The cross-section of the extruded insulation layer should be dense and solid without visible pinholes and bubbles.
For multi-core cables, it is generally necessary to twist them into a circle to ensure formability and reduce the shape of the cable. The stranding mechanism is similar to conductor stranding. Due to the large diameter of the stranded nodes, most are used without untwisting.
Technical requirements for cable formation: First, to prevent the individual insulation core from tipping over and causing the cable to twist; second, to prevent the insulation layer from scratching.
Most of the cable is completed with two other processes: filling to ensure the roundness and stability of the completed cable; the second is tying to ensure that the core does not loosen.
6. Inner Sheathing
The insulation layer needs to be adequately protected to protect the insulated wire core from being damaged by the armor. The inner protection layer consists of extruded inner protection layer (isolation sleeve) and a wrapped inner protection layer (cushion pad). Wrapping pad instead of taping should be carried out simultaneously with the cable formation process.

8. Outer sheath
The outer sheath is a structural part that protects the insulation layer of wire and cable from environmental factors. The primary role of the outer sheath is to improve the mechanical strength of wire and cable, chemical resistance, moisture, water, and human immersion, to prevent the cable from burning.
